I feel the need to be honest here. Yes, I am a 500 hour certified yoga instructor with probably over 4000 hours of teaching expereince. I spend many of my days in yoga clothes, buying yoga things and going to places that yoga is being done. So it would seem that I would be very connected to "yoga", whatever that may be. Honestly, since I began teacher training, over 5 years ago, I have never felt so disconnected. Sure, I have had huge break throughs, I have a flexible body, and I have read a lot about it but, sadly, something is amiss. I realize that I the thing that is missing is me, or more specifically, my lack of devotion to a daily practice of yoga.
I have said all the excuses to myself, just as many others I have heard. I have a family, a job, a life, I am not a monk living on a mountain top, I am tired, and I am hurting. All great excuses to lose yourself and not dedicate yourself to a practice of something. Recently, I was watching a TV show on Netflix about the Buddha and realized that Buddha IS all about the middle path. The path of the regular joe (jolina), like me. To be balanced, I needed to find dedication, my connection to yoga in this life that I have.
That is what this blog is about. It is about me, the center of the universe and the insigificant nothing, doing yoga for an entire year, 6 days a week and 7 days of meditation. My hope is to connect to yoga like I did before I made it a career choice.
My plan for my devotion will be posted next and if all goes well, it will transform and change as the year goes on. I hope along the way, you will join me.
Now the practice yoga can begin...............
Just get on your mat and the practice will work.................
